And still we come.
Often, those jokes would be aimed at the black customers, a former sales associate at the store told The Huffington Post.
The former employee, who spoke on condition she not be named for fear of jeopardizing her career in the industry, said she heard sales staff and security repeatedly rip on black shoppers: “Their card is probably not going to go through,” they’d say. “I don’t know why they come in here and want to try stuff on that they know they’re not going to buy.”
“If a black person comes in with a sweatshirt or sneakers, some of the white sales associates would be on the floor saying: ‘Why are they even here? They’re probably going to scam,'” said the former associate, who is…

Question.
Why do we insist on shopping with white owned companies?
I have no clue. I have an even better question: why would a person work to buy a fuckin’ belt for 350.00 dollars? I’m my blaming the victim, I swear I’m not, but your priorities are pretty skewed if that’s what you’re spending your money on and to get treated like a criminal on top of that. Now, I know the price was reported on just so people would conflate the issue. And I guess I did, but you gotta wonder.
I wonder why someone would buy an expensive belt or purse too, especially if they have bills and student loans to pay off. I don’t want to blame ppl but why do ppl buy expensive things that will break anyway I mean I could see paying that much if it lasts forever and is indestructible but its not and usually this stuff is made overseas for a very cheap price. And a lot of these designers don’t want black ppl wearing their stuff anyways.
Well, it’s not lose sight of the real issue. And that is we need to stay outta these stores and keep our money in out pockets. How are you gonna go somewhere you know they don’t you and spend money. And then when they prove they don’t want you, you frown.
agreed. it is annoying to see some of our ppl like this that spend money or wait in line for hours just to spend their money at a place where they are not appreciated and a few generations ago would not have been allowed in. it just boggles my mind.
We have to also look at the racism as well. We can’t let these people off the hook. The fact remains that we can go in these stores and spend our money. We should not be a target simply because our skin is darker.
I personally don’t shop in these places but if you want to go right ahead and be ready for the bullshit.
Ohhh…..Ohhh….I know the answer!!!!
“Cause you wanna look like your favourite celebrity.
“Cause you wanna brag about your new belt that the rest of us can’t afford.
“Cause you were told that the belt is the new “in” thing.
“Cause you’re dumbass.
That’s a good answer as any. I wonder if he kept after all this mess? What do you think?
Yeah…he kept it.
