Did you get the sample? You may be too young. Let your parents hear they’ll get it.

It worked fine for me, you might have a fugazi computer. LOL!!

That’s smooth!!! I like it! You always find interesting music brother.

I’m a member of SO many music groups plus I have a few friends in the independent label underground, which is where the music is. Also, being a producer myself I get exposed to a lot of music. Some of the best music will never get heard by the massive.

Did you go figure out the sample?

Is that Naughty by Nature in there?

    • hunglikejesus November 16, 2013 at 9:44 PM #

      Nope!

It’s so easy it’s the second melody you hear and it’s in very close proximity to the original melody.

Here’s a clue: the artist that did made that “did it” originally initials are L.V. and is dead now. Thought when the person did the song in question he was with his band and not yet solo.

A Lovers Holiday by the group Change? It was way back in the 80’s. Luther Vandross was a member. Thanks for the clues man. I would’ve never figured it out!lol That’s a long ass time ago.lol I actually forgot he was in a group before going solo. Change had quite a few hits back in the day. They have a greatest hits cd that’s pretty good. A buddy of mine had it. I remember he used to play it every once in awhile. Keep in mind this was ten years ago.
This was kind of fun trying to figure this out. Maybe you can do a post every once in awhile where you put up a song with a sample and we try to figure out who it is. Call it “Guess that Sample”. Who knows, could catch on.lol

You got it all but one thing. The song that’s is called “The Glow of Love”.

      Very good.

      • Kushite Prince November 17, 2013 at 3:28 PM #

You’re right! I went back and listened to it again. It seems it’s a very popular sample. Janet Jackson used it in the song All For You. And Aretha Franklin used it as well. It’s kind of catchy,I can see why it’s sampled so much.

        • hunglikejesus November 17, 2013 at 3:30 PM #

Do you know which artist is sampled more than any other?

    • hunglikejesus November 17, 2013 at 2:44 PM #

I think I’ll do “guess the sample” that’s does sound like fun. It can get really hard though.

  8. Kushite Prince November 17, 2013 at 3:48 PM #

Most sampled?? I don’t know but since black created country, blues, rock and pop—I assume it’s a black person.

    • hunglikejesus November 17, 2013 at 3:49 PM #

      You know it. James Browns.

      • Kushite Prince November 17, 2013 at 4:00 PM #

I’m an idiot! That should have been an obvious choice. Now that I think about it. Could hip hop exist without James Brown? Every rapper should send a check to the Brown estate. They have sampled SO much of his music.

        • hunglikejesus November 17, 2013 at 4:05 PM #

People have been using “The Funky Drummer” since it came out. And still use it today, it’s one of the baddest beats ever made. If you got it go and check it out now. Nothing but pure funk.
