This is one of my faves from Foreign Exchange:

Hmmm. I already replied, but it got lost in cyberspace. It happens sometimes. My comment stating “Ausar and Auset” was not appreciated. Anyway, this music sounds very European, so this band will be able to play gigs in Holland easily. Peace.

I have had comments disappear as well, and it’s very frustrating, but we do what we must.

I think Foreign Exchange plays Europe most of the year if I’m not mistaken. They have roots deep in the West Coast hip hop scene. The lead singing’s brother is a hip hop artist and has some moderate success nationally, but really big locally. They have also spawned several female vocalist who have moved on to solo careers. Their music is kinda like Loose Ends if Loose Ends had stayed together. Some of you young ones won’t know who Loose Ends are–too bad.

Thank you for resubmitting your comment, it is very much appreciated.

I read that the producer is Dutch, so that explains why the music sounds familiar even though I do not know the artists.

That first video is really nice. That’s a beautiful song and amazing visuals! Sometimes I forget how much beauty is on the planet until I see videos like that.

I forget as well with all wars and killing that goes on here. We have an absolutely beautiful planet that has been overrun by a disease. It blinds is to our divine nature and cause hatred to manifest deep inside. We have only ourselves to blame for allowing this cancer to take hold.

Thank you for stopping by as usual.

    Wow…the visuals are stunning.

If you did go the white people would soon be there to harass you. But yes, it would be nice to visit some place far away. Just don’t tell them you’re from Earth, it would be embarrassing.

I really like this. I think the music is like early Seal, my comrade next to me says LTJ Bukem.

I think what really ties the photography together is both the motion and the saturation. I like that slight desatch with just the right drop of sepia. It also looks like it was shot with a DSLR because of the depth of field. I like that so much better than the flatter look of the standard video cam with it’s unchangeable lens.

Very warm, embracing and calming…and still action packed, well done!

    • hunglikejesus August 31, 2013 at 5:50 PM #

I see you know your way around a camera. I work in that field, well, sorta, I’m in imaging. I’m addicted to imagines and this video feed both my jones. Music and pictures.

Also, this video though it doesn’t show a lot of human interaction, this is what the world could be if not for vile people that are put in charge. The people that have made living a task. The people that seem to hate humanity and turned our Earth into a giant prison for those who don’t have the means to step outside the gate. The prisoners that know better, but are stuck on this one track life where opportunity is a stranger and greeted as such. The prisoners that are forced to identify with their captors for lack of knowledge of their own selves. The prisoners that are so beater down and use to pain until they inflicted it on themselves.

I’m sorry what were we talking about now.

Oh! He does sound like Seal now that you mentioned it, and it has that liquid drum and bass feel of LTJ Bukem.

      Thank you for stopping by.

The images have a little human interaction, but there is a very intimate interaction between the viewer and the images.

I am still going through the beatings of learning my way around the cams. I have an assignment of creating a cinemagraph for a class using aftereffects, a program I have NEVER used before ever and to be honest with you, it looks a bit daunting.
I have to bring in 3 separate shootings of still images and complimentary video to layer behind it for the moving section.
I have been spending almost a week brainstorming on composition ideas.
I can use cats, but then I feel like I have fallen into that 2.0 Tumblr imaging hellhole.

Well, I have another week do figure it out and shoot.

I use DLSR, and will probably use a 25-150.

That sounds like a really good time and I wish you luck with it. My expertise is in the finish product and have not much of a clue what a camera even does. I’ll leave that to the people like yourself.

Which video programs do you like to work with? I like Final Cut Pro, but have battles with the pro-PC comrades who insist on Premiere, which I find is good for documentary work, but FCP is much more artistic in it’s transitions, IMHO.

I am tempted to try to find Avid just to play with.

            • hunglikejesus August 31, 2013 at 6:45 PM #

Well, all the work I do for a living is stills so we use photoshop and illustrator. I have never used video production software. Sorry.

              • Thelibertylamp August 31, 2013 at 6:53 PM #

Next semester I am going to learn Illustrator, ….which seems to me like someone look photoshop and dropped it on it’s head.

That pen tool…*pulling hair out*…I commend you on your skills, sir!!

                • hunglikejesus August 31, 2013 at 6:58 PM #

Illustrator is a bitch coming from photoshop, but like everything practice, practice and then practice some damn more. Nobody I know has illustrator completely figured out, which to me is the fun part. I’m always finding different ways of meeting my objective. Plus, I produces own music and music production is very similar. To me anyway.

                  I love my pen tool.

                  • Thelibertylamp August 31, 2013 at 7:08 PM #

Yes, Master Po, I shall become one with the pen tool…and listen for the grasshopper at my feet…

Sorry, every time I attempt to get zen about editing, David Carridine keeps flashing before my eyes…

                    • hunglikejesus August 31, 2013 at 7:13 PM #

You know, when I’m working I like my headphones on and the music wide open. I have such scattered thinking that if it were quiet I wouldn’t last five minutes. I think mental illness has screwed up my thought process. That could be why I have to always be creating something lest I have a nervous breakdown.

                      Yes, I am insane.

                    • Thelibertylamp August 31, 2013 at 7:27 PM #

Join the club! I am also in treatment. I told my very good friend that having mental illness is like having a type of cancer that everyone else seems to laugh at.

School and good comrades keep me sane-ish.

Daryle is a strong figure in my life as well.

We have another member of our collective who we have to help pull through at times.

Creative people don’t do well in a Capitalist society, it is far too alienating and pushes us down too deep into our heads.

We would do so much better in a socialist-collectivist society that give us a roof, internet, and a few other necessities while we give back our creations to the people in return.

I don’t care about “things” just give me what I need, let me create, and keep the government out of my private life, and I’d be fine.

But, no, I am being taught that I have to learn how to whore my work and creative process to the blood suckers who have no idea what they are talking about, but they want to use it to sell their latest crappy poison on society.

Blah, sorry for the rant, but I have to write up my “sell me” hustle for a class and I am so tempted to just write “F*** the World” as my letterhead design

I think you have it figured out.

I was told a long time ago that I live in my head far to much and that’s not healthy. I’ll tell you what ain’t; this shit that I’m forced to endure everyday. What kind of a animal gets up at the same time everyday and do things they hate for extended periods of time? So you can then make money so you’ll have a place to sleep so you can get up every morning? Know wonder we are so easily controlled……..never mind you know exactly where I’m going.
